Martin Luther King, Jr, was leading the Poor Peoples Campaign when he was assassinated. On this day in 1968, three weeks after King’s death, his deputy, Rev Ralph Abernathy and his wife, Coretta Scott King, led a coalition of Black people, Indians, Hispanics and poor Whites in meetings across the US Government in Washington, D.C.





Percy Robert Miller, known as Master P, rapper, actor, record producer, and entrepreneur was born on this day in 1970 in New Orleans, Louisiana
