Alexander v Holmes
On this day in 1969, the Supreme Court delivered its judgement in the Alexander v Holmes case, ordering all still segregated schools to desegregate immediately.

On this day in 1962, James Meredith was escorted by Federal Marshalls as he tried to enroll at the University of Mississippi. It caused a riot on the Ole Miss campus.
