Born on this day in 1939 in Tennessee as Anna Mae Bullock, Tina Turner rose to become one of the greatest singers and performers in Rock and Roll and Rhythm and Blues. She has sold over 100 million records, won 12 Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
